About
Why we built eSuite
For the last 10+ years, I’ve watched the music world struggle with physical sheet music. As an outsider, I felt there had to be a better way. It seemed like the rest of the world had adapted to the digital revolution, but classical music was being left behind.
The idea for eSuite was simple: I wanted to create the go-to app for sheet music. Using all the advancements in technology and user interface design, I dreamt of bringing musicians the tools they deserve.
eSuite is my attempt to create the best possible app for both my wife (a world-class musician) and my son (just starting his first piano lessons). I aim to make the app powerful enough for the most advanced musicians and simple enough for young beginners.
All musicians deserve a better digital experience.

Pricing
Consistent with eSuite’s “origin story,” my goal has been to solve problems for musicians. The ability to manage a digital sheet music library with a well-designed app seems to me like a right that all musicians deserve in this digital age.
Commitment #1: The library function of eSuite will always be free. This includes playlists and collaboration features.
There is also the reality of building and maintaining an app—especially one with robust features and content. We have added a sheet music catalog to eSuite, and with it, introduced paid memberships to access that content.
Commitment #2: Pricing will be fair and transparent.
I’ve worked at too many companies that raise prices on a whim without good reason or who disregard the user experience in service of profits. We will not do that. We will not clutter the app with ads or badger users to switch to a paid tier. If you want to use the library features exclusively, you can always do so, for free and without distraction.

User experience
Powerfully easy.
That is a seemingly-paradoxical phrase, but it is one that guides our user experience design. We aim to make eSuite so simple that anyone can pick it up and start using it immediately and intuitively. While at the same time, we want to include powerful features that the most advanced users expect from their sheet music apps. That is a balancing act that is always on our mind.
If you feel that we haven’t lived up to either one of those ideals, please provide feedback—we’d love to hear from you!
